About Meditation Teaching
Students will find their way with me as we explore the teachings of Buddhism, and the practices of meditation. I do not limit our sessions to one type or another. Though schooled in Vipassana, I am familiar with practices from other traditions. I am particularly interested in seeing students deepen their experience of meditation with an eye toward wisdom and compassion.
Some teachers I have learned from are Pema Chodron, Thich Nhat Hahn, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, Sebene Selassie, Ruth King, the Dali Llama, Larry Yang, Sharda Rogell, James Baraz (having taken the Awakening Joy class 3 x), etc.
More About My Sessions
I teach students on a regular basis – either once or twice a month, or more often if desired. We meet on Zoom, but will meet in person if nearby.
We will progress as much as the student is eager to learn and delve into the teachings and ethics of meditation. This will include, but not limited to, the 8-fold Way and The 4 Noble Truths. The technique I use is fairly intuitive, though based on teachers in the Insight community. This might include the practice, for example, of RAIN: Recognize, Allow, Investigate and Nurture (as developed by Tara Brach.)
The purpose of having a teacher is to remain focused and motivated and seeing yourself honestly and compassionately . I hope to help you develop a deeper practice.
Cost: $75 - $150/60 min sessio
